So, I got a used SC exhaust, and I plan to have the head pipes jet-hot coated.

I am puzzled by the sliding collars around the tubes. Is there a way to remove them from around the pipe w/o breaking something?

Sorry if I'm being retarded and it's really an easy process.

The collars don not come off, the outfit doing the coating will just wire them in place.

Re-coating the stock head pipes black really make the exhaust system (and bike) look better, I recommend it to all.

Cheers,

Lee C.

Having read some other forums, Jet-Hot as a company (I was using it in the generic) has had some process and customer service issues.

I was referred to Accessories Plus in Belmont here.

The CeramaKrome (or whatever its called) is pretty standardized, but finding a shop that does a good job is like any other situation.

Others that I've found (not endorsing any of them):

http://www.cobracountry.com/ap/home.html
http://www.sandersonheaders.com
http://www.moorepower.com
http://www.xtremeperformanceheatcoatings.com

I'm sure there are tons of others.
