So, which one do you guys think is the ducati with the biggest following??? I mean biggest but also most passionate, loyal and dedicated owners. Both quality and quantity count. I know many of us consider these motorcycles to be rolling pieces of art... so Which one is it??

Could it be the 996?

Could it be the Monster???

or maybe the infamous 999?!!!

:D Happy weekend.

to me it'd be the iconic 9x6 series of bikes. The bike almost every rider lusts after at some point in their riding lives whether they're riding suzuki, yamaha or ducati, etc. Loved mine, not the easiest bike in the world to live with but a great ride.

I second the 916 series bikes.
Sport classic owners
Not many stockers + owners using lots of parts from the Ducati parts bin for upgrades

No contest, 916 hands down.

Except when I'm riding the Hyper.
MONSTER !!! :) and other Ducatis that have been made into monster type bikes. ex. Naked

I concider most all naked Ducati's to be a Monster. (of some sort )
Multistrada! I don't have one but those dudes are crazy! :)

It's got to be the 1974 750 Super Sport.

Everybody that knows what it is lusts after one.

I suppose it's limited quantity keeps it from having a "big following".
Do you mean "cult" following or popular following? In either case, the red ones do. :)

there is truth in this statement. People with second gen multis swear by it with all they have.

This is somewhat of a special case. That is not the bike that younger generations know of ducati. You had to have been born in the early 60s or before to be your intro to ducati world. It is true that once you know what it is, it becomes the ultimate grail bike.
I've always loved the look of bevel-drive engines, so for sheer mechanical art, I'd vote for that generation.

Me too!
No contest, 916 era bikes.
guessing Monsters and soon to be overtaken by highest selling model, the Multistrada
Monsters have a huge following but the wide range love for the bike has waned since the latest generation.
Still, I'd bet the monster has the biggest group of riders.

Second gen multi guys believe they have found the holy grail of motorcycles (because they have) and it's hard to believe that anybody who loves motorcycles cannot agree with them.
However, even though the bike is probably one of ducatis biggest sales successes I dont think the numbers can even come close to matching the monster.
Even today the 696 and 796 outsell the multi1200.

ST guys are small in number but they are diehard and they will defend the bike to the bitter end.

The 1098 brought thousands of riders into the ducati fold from other brands and many owners are quite passionate about the series. but they aren't as vocal as others are.

The streetfighter is a polarizing bike but those that get-it love the bike and will defend it with passion.
Most Americans don't understand the bike and don't even really know what it is, even so-called ducatista.
It certainly doesn't have a large or widespread following.

Bevels are sought after by collectors and investors and the prices are steadily climbing and have been for years.
Even though we don't talk about the bikes much here I have to think they are the most coveted ducatis world-wide.
But the numbers of bikes and owners are not big enough to have a widespread following as is witnessed by this forum.

I'd have to say that the superbikes as a whole has the biggest following and the most passionate members of their club.
I've never liked nor lusted after any of the 916 family and I still have no desire for one but many just love the bike. To me it just looks old and clunky.
But, I wouldn't break them up into separate models, Ducati is always evolving and always striving for a newer better flagship.
Sometimes they hit the mark and sometimes they don't, but the superbike is Ducati. And the superbike drives Ducati passion.
I'd have to pick the superbike

For me it is the Daivel. I have a short inseam and fits me perfectly.Loads of power/torque. Love it.

The drivel is the red-headed stepchild of Ducati and comes in dead last in the popularity contest.
Talk about polarizing!

Thanks.I will now kick it to the kerb and hope the garbage guys will take it off my hands.
