Excuse the novice question...but are all Ducati reds the same paint code? Or at least the later models?

Reason for question: Just bought a used 2010 SFS in red. The solo cowl has a noticeable chip on it from the previous owner. My buddy already has some paint that he used for a 2009 848 Superbike.

Will they match???

I'm curious as to where he got that paint for his 848 from. From what I've heard, you cant get Ducati Red paint in America, nor will they ship it overseas. He must have matched it to an aftermarket paint or something. I'm in the same boat though. Bought a 2010 848 2 months ago and on the ride home from the dealership, my lower fairing already had a chipped spot. sucksssss

Chances are he matched it. It was for another buddy's bike, so I doubt very seriously he had it imported. If it matches, I will be okay with it. I just hate looking at the chip. I feel like it's the first thing people see when they look at the bike.

I know what you mean. I like to keep mine looking as flawless as possible (as hard as that is). I clean mine after every ride. lol you'll have to post pictures of the turn out once you touch it up.

No probs my friend but be aware that Red is a notoriously difficult color to match properly. So make sure to test spray a piece to see if the color match is okay before you spray that solo cowl on your SFS.

BTW Jess - For what it's worth the Color Rite 7500 Ducati Red is the same color paint used on my '95 900SS. I used some of it to repaint the little tail piece behind the seat on my bike and the color match was spot-on.
