I don't know the Ducati camshafts specifically, but, generally, racing cams have more overlap, which will drop your effective compression ratio. This can lead to a loss of low end without also changing to higher compression pistons.

Good to know. I was thinking of asking for some high compression pistons for my birthday. :D
