.I Attended the Vintage Bike Auction at Daytona on Saturday.Amid all the Gloom and Doom of our listless economy most of the prices on Collectable motorcycles were stilll fairly good and outperforming the Sock market.
On Friday the Auction was mostly made up of the 91-98 900SS parts (belt drive 2 V) ,memorabilia,Kaw 4 cyl parts ,and some rough parts bikes.
Saturday's Motorcycle Auction seemed decent.
A 75 Imola Replica( 750SS frame) w/750GT cases w/ square case 750 Desmo top end,and Imola pipes brought 12000.
78 Sq Cs 750SS(Met Red non -orig) did have 4777 wheels,w/71000K brought 12000.
Nice Hailwood Rep brought 12200,74 750 Sport brought 19500,and a 66 DM250M39no tach,std bars,no rear sets,bid to 7750..No sale.
Somer Hookers 77-78 spoke wheeled 900SS bid to 16000..no sale w/ a reserve of 18000.
91 900SS 5K RED w/White frame 4500.,92 900SS Charcoal F fairing 9K 5100,93 900SL 5K,7000.
Please remember aLL bikes were subject to an 8% buyers premium on top plus tax, plus shipping.
The FULL set of results can be viewed on Proxibid.com in the Achives section under MARCH 7th date.
The BEST buy of the Auction in my opinion was a 51? BMW R51/2 w/a Steib sidecar for 7750.00

Bill,
Thanks for the info. It is good to see what is happening in the market overseas. Prices here in Australia for bevels and other older Italian bikes has largely been unaffected. The later models are getting a bit of a hiding though.

Oh yeah, and thanks for the info about prices, it's always good to know how much you are not going to spend on a bike in the near future....
