Hi Jakepeewee2. Could you measure the distance between the external surface of one of the fender mounts on the right fork leg and the external surface of the same fender mount on the left fork leg?

Many thanks :)

Roughly 213 mm if I understand the question correctly.

OK. That was what I thought you meant. So, ~213 mm.

Don't have many pictures, and right now she's kind of in parts. But I did find this onefrom a while ago, when being rebuild. View attachment 982586
Beautiful Jakepeewee2, thank you for posting.
I've said it before but we don't get enough 851/888 stuff in these pages.
How long have you owned this bike? Has it been a satisfying bike to own?
The SP3 is my favourite 851/888

I own the bike since 1997, imported her from Italy. I love the bike, to me this is the best looking 851/888 there is. She's pretty raw to ride, but very satisfying indeed. She is not overly powerfull (105 hp at he wheel), pretty loud though and does have an oldfashioned steering character, way different from an SP4/5 f.e. It takes a little effort to steer but once she's turned in she's like on rails. Very confidence inspiring.

I don't plan on ever selling her, she's a keeper.
