Hi everyone, as a new member and new Ducati owner this site is full of great resources and information so thanks for the valuable info, my question is I believe my bike is running the stock ECU, can it be flashed or need to be replaced, my bike is only running two brothers slip-on but to me seems to run rich and I wasnt sure if a flash would fix the issue or could it be another problem, and why do some bikes say SBK and others Race on the cluster is this simply from the ecu flash? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Yes it can be reflashed and you do not have to take it to a dealer or third party to do so.

There is a suite of software that allows you to get into your ECU to read the file, write/flash a bin file, read real time what is going on and modify the file.
In the same order, IAW Reader, IAW Writer, IAW Diag and Tunerpro.

First 3 here. IAW Diag is Win only.

Tunerpro here and is Win only.

Some infö here
https://www.ducati.ms/forums/5774025-post177.html

I do not have a SBK, but have ridden the 1098 on loan for a week or so.
SBK message is probably the stock map and Race will be a DP map.

In Tunerpro it is possible to change the message.
As t_bare pointed out to me, this is a good way to keep track of what map/bin file is in the ECU if you are modifying maps/bin files

Not sure how many characters you can use, but I would program to U R Awesome>:)

I know the 1098 I had on loan was extremely thirsty to the extent that I planned a long trip to MotoGP in PI I did not take the bike as with one road we take I would not have made it.

There are various opinions and experiences, however the forum consensus seems to be that stock map with aftermarket cans is OK.
You will not know until you can measure AFR which could be on a dyno or using ScanST or ScanMX with a wideband oxygen sensor.

Every bike is different.
You may be able to find a map/bin file where someone has remapped their bike.
Maybe post in this thread to ask the question - make sure you state year, model and modifications.

so I have read over it and downloaded all files I need, I understand I can pull my factory bin file off and save it should I need to use it again, but how do I make a new map or find one for whatever mods I have or should want to change in the future

You use Tunerpro to modify the maps(s)
You need an XDF that suits your ECU so the bin file looks like something that "normal" beings can interpret.

In my ideal world, you log the bike, analyse the data and gradually improve the map. Base and offset, as in horizontal and vertical.

Alternatively, you search or post in the ECU Repository thread to see if someone has already modified a map/bin file for your model and configuration.

I believe I have an XDF for the the 848 Evo. PM me when you are ready. I'll need to log into my old PC to pull it up. I've been all Mac for a few years now.

That would be great I could use it, I could also use the dp bin file for slip on if you happen to have that or anyone, thanks.

My Buddy Paul has a 2012 848 EVO Corse SE with Termi and DP ECU this is the BIN I pulled from his bike

I was able to view his bin with this xdf. Remove "pdf" from the filename and you should be good to go.

Thanks guys, gives me somewhere to start with, hopefully I can figure something out.
Once you have the Lonelec cable, you can always post the file read by IAW Reader here.

For your model it will take about 30 minutes so have the bike on a charger and suggest headlight fuse removed.

Once you have the bin file, just add .pdf to it and use Manage attachments or similar to post here so interested or helpful parties can download and check XDFs.

It may seem complex but it is not and you will learn on the way and hopefully become part of the helpful and contributing community.

Paul's 2012 has QS and TC but doesn't have the sexy aluminum tank. I assume you have 2013?

Read posts 2, 4 and 7.

The bike needs to be on but there are instructions.

In particular read the instructions that come with the Lonelec kit before connecting it to your computer.
