Hi, I was wondering which differences there are between the two front fairings. I know that the 03/04 uses a different windshield, but do the two fairings use the same fairing mounts?

I'm looking to replace my rashed-up 06 one with the older style because I found one for cheap, but if I need a new pair of fairing mounts...

The mirror supports are different between the two models. These pieces are not cheap.

Could he plug the mirror holes and use bar end mirrors or would the fairing mounts still not work?
I bought a CF 999R nose for my 2003 999. I already had the magnesium headlight bucket and stays so I took a shot to see if the shorter stays would fit with the wider R nose and they came up short. He'll need to buy a set of 03' stays, but 999 parts are very cheap on Ebay now so it might be worth while.

Do you know about how much the 03 stays are shorter than the 05 ones? Are the 03 days shorter, or angled inwards more?

I saw this listing which is an 05 model that says that it fits older models as well, but is the converse true?

(Also, I use a pair of aftermarket mirrors that attach only to the top holes. The bottom ones are plugged. Oh, and fairing stay prices have skyrocketed in the last 4 months. Sigh.)
