Has anyone dropped a DS 1000 motor in a 91-98 SS?

It looks like it should bolt right up, but that's just my eyeball ruler, which has proved to be dramatically inconsistent in the past!

Obviously, I would need the full wiring harness, FI kit, etc., also but is it possible? Has anyone done it? Better yet, has anyone documented it?

What problems would I encounter, etc.?

Let's face it, unless you want to spend over $6,500 at Ca Cycleworks on MBP testastretta heads and the rest, you'll never get close to the performance/$ potential of dropping in a new FI motor from putting nearly 100hp as stock!

Thanks for the thoughts! RZ - A build is never easier or cheaper than a swap. The 944 kit itself is over $1k in parts alone, and you barely get into the 80s for HP.
See: http://www.moto-one.com.au/performance/900sscarb944.html
So, I'd rather spend the same (or even less) to have a stock 95hp/75ft-lb motor, than a tuned 80 horse motor with 20k miles on the bottom-end! Besides, I can do a swap in my garage, but I can't hone bores!
And Ed, I hear ya! Kragen certainly doesn't have one on the shelf! But, if you look at Ebay, there's always a few Duc motors (mostly superbike...hmmm!) available. This past week, there was even the full wiring harness and injector manifold for a DS. I'm sure a 1000DS motor shows up every once in awhile.
I just need to know if the motor's mounting points will fit my frame and what mods, if any, I might have to make to ancilliaries, etc. to make the swap work.
Thanks guys...dirty side down.
