I'm sharing this because it was next to impossible to find a pic of this Driven Racing Halo gas cap on a Hypermotard 821 939. There are very few caps for our specific bike and the majority of them are not very cool (in my opinion). It fits a bit different than I imagined but I like the look. The lines and gaps are smooth. I pictured it sitting down below the recess in the panel, it spaces off and meets the lip of the recess. Looks less basic than the OEM and the carbon fiber cap you can put on the OEM cap.

Just happened to have ordered the red one 2 days ago. I really don't like the stock cap.

Well.....I got the bike back together (I was shimming valves and replacing belts and installed the new cap. I tried to use the supplied rubber sealing spacer but it was ridiculously tall making the whole assembly sit very high. I made a new one using some cork gasket material I had laying around. I informed the company what was happening and they seem to not really care. I also asked if they had a thinner rubber seal and they said no. I will send them more pics tonight of how silly it looks sitting on the original seal that they provided. Hopefully they have other option for the seal. I would hate to have showed their product off with there being a major flaw in the piece.

So, after a bit of conversation(which went absolutely nowhere. Basically was told it "worked on the prototype ") and experimenting with a few sealing materials and thicknesses I found a simple and effective way to seal the base in a way that keeps the profile In line with the tank cover plastic. Use the seal off of the OEM cap. It's the perfect thickness and compresses to a solid seal. I'm happy again. I let Driven Racing know of my findings. The 1st pic is the difference in thicknesses . The far right it the Driven Racing, middle is OEM cap seal and left is one I made. The other pic is how it looks with the Driven Racing seal torqued down. Notice how the halo base is flexing. Notice the front and back are flexing up due to the thick rubber pressure and lack of bolts in front and back

A little update. The base gasket that came with the cap was too thick. After experimenting with different thickness of gasket materials I found that the OEM cap base gasket works best.
Now, the o-ring on the cap, I dont believe it is ment for fuel applications. It has swollen and longer fits in the groove . This is quite the hassle when trying to put the cap back on.you basically set it on the base and hope the cap lines up enough to make a seal. It's funny because this was a $150ish gas cap system ment to make fueling quicker and not need a key. This boring issue negates the whole thing. I will buy an o-ring ment for fuel applications and try to adhere it to the cap in some fashion so I dont have to mess with a loose o-ring every time I fill up.

That's a bummer. I would send it back. Seems like a company that makes gas caps would use the correct rubber. I call defective part. Get a new one. Mine's test fitted as I work on my bike and I like it so much better than the stock cap.

Did it sit really high with the base gasket that came with it.
I never tried it with the base gasket and just used the OEM one. I'll slip on the Driven one and see how it fits. Just saw your sig and I see you are in Lansing. I'm in East Lansing. I've never seen another Hyper on the road anywhere yet. Hard to find many good twisty's to ride in these parts.
