Hello all,

Well as title states, I laid my 2008 1098 down a few weeks ago. I was going along on the highway and hit a patch of gravel during a medium speed left curve. Went down through the gravel, was told didn't hit the road at all, don't remember impact at all.

Sympathies.

At least you're well enough to tell us about it.

Can it get fixed. Will you be up and riding again?

Hang in there.

My insurance has totalled the bike. It has what I would consider "typical" damage from being down ie; front fairing damaged, rear fairing damaged, left side upper and lower damaged, clip-on...

What is a fair price to pay, if I wanted to buy the salvage back from the insurance? It would make a hell of a race bike, or even a nice street bike with the parts replaced.

If one was to part out a 1098, and wanted to sell the parts off quickly yet not give them away what would you charge for:

motor complete
frame w/salvage title
wheels
front brakes
