Damn, I thought this thread was about something else. Tight is good. You don't want it too loose, especially to the point where it feels like you're throwing a hot dog down a hallway. :cool:

This is what has worked best for me over the years:

Tighten hose clamps, then run engine until warm.
Let the engine cool off and then check clamps again.

This lets everything 'settle' in place.
