I've already asked this question, and although I received some interesting responses, none of them addressed what I was trying to find out:

Other than the different swingarm and modified fairing, are there any real differences between the two model years?

Looking over web articles and the current Ducati USA site, it seems that an '06 is rated at 116 hp (crank) and I believe some articles state that the '04 is rated at 110. I already know that I shouldn't "pinch pennies" and that I should keep my MV, but what I would like to know is if there are any differences between the two model years.

well...in the other thread you posted...

you're header made it sound like you were looking for dollar validation...not a search for the differences...and you weren't exactly clear as to deliniate your difference discovery need in the questions you asked to ascertain multiple answers to multiple things...maybe it was how I intepreted what you wrote that made what info you were looking for unclear to me at least!

Thanks

Point taken - next time I'll be more careful delineating:

"Other than the different swingarm and modified fairing, are there any real differences between the two model years?"

I seem to recall an article or two that actually described a small hp jump from '04 to '05 - I doubt it'd be noticeable, (to me), but I was just trying to get an idea of how the two might vary in selling price when the inevitable day arrives when I want to unload it (I loved my MV, but I'm already kind of tired of the 4-cylinder motor).

As was mentioned in your other, identical thread (you can delete your own threads, btw), Ducati changed the way they measure HP around '05, so I really doubt there is much, if any, difference in engines after '04.

How to Delete?

Thanks, but I haven't figured out a way to do that. I'd also read that Ducati changed the way they measured hp, but I was still hoping for a authoritative answer (based on what I'd previously read).

Btw - you expressed an interest in my Brutale, as I recall. I traded my S4R in on it, and found I really missed the v-twin. I'd ride one if I were you - they're pretty frantic at freeway speeds (I raised the gearing on mine, but I haven't been able to get used to it). Around town, it's great, but after 10 miles or so at freeway speeds I'm looking for an exit.

Oh, I'd love to ride one someday! I was brought up on a Honda Hawk, but raced - and street rode - various Japanese fours for many years so I'm sort of at home on both Twins and Fours. Can't say as though I really have a preference.

I love my 749 and was just wishing out loud, but if I was to find a money tree, I would on my way to buy your MV!!.

(BTW, click Edit on the post you want to delete...it's simple.)

I have an '06 with Termi full system and on the dyno was 111hp at the wheel.

Thanks, but as a newbie I'm apparently not granted that option yet.
