The Diavel 1260 is one of my short list bikes, but every professional review I've read so far criticizes its abrupt throttle response in both Sport and Touring modes, which can be unnecessarily dangerous.

Has anyone here tested or bought one? Thoughts? Pros/Cons? Regrets?

Thoughts? Pros/Cons? Regrets?
Thank you for your enquiry Mr @Damascus, we at "No Bullshit Reviews" are happy to try to address some of your concerns:

1) The name, Diavel. We are sure that you are aware of the meaning of this name and are concerned that it may lead you into temptation. Antics, both on and off the bike, such as those demonstrated at the recent WCM event are things that we feel you should avoid. @scott and @Focker expressed genuine concern on this point.

2) The color. Unfortunately it does not appear that a factory white/gold option is available for this motorcycle. While this may appear to be an opportunity for someone like yourself, we think that modifying the color scheme could be a lengthy, expensive and difficult process.

3) Accessories. Our billet alloy specialist, @Iwannaduc, has undertaken extensive research of the aftermarket parts available for this bike. We are sad to say that he has been unable to locate any bullet alloy parts for this bike. As a result, the structural integrity of the vehicle may be impacted. Beyond this, we note that a lack of mounting points for things like cameras, radar detectors and oversize running lights is a potential problem.

4) Rake angle. We did our best here, but all of our detailed measurements confirmed our conclusion, there is just no way to mount a snow plow on this bike.

There are other issues here that we feel you should consider, but we reserve those comments for a less public place.

I’ve heard the same thing and that’s one of my pet peeves. My 1098 had that abrupt on/off throttle response and it was a pain when leaned over, especially in slow corners.

Everything else sounds pretty impressive and I really like the look and feel of the bike but, my Diavel is so well sorted at this point it’s not worth upgrading when you consider the abysmal 2nd hand market for the Diavel.

Yeah, I've made a promise to myself of no more aftermarket ECU mapping on my next bike. The Diavel 1260 ticks a lot of boxes for me, but sounds like it has one of the worst fueling problems out there. Bummer.

No problems here. Really nice bike.
I did buy the throttle spacers. It makes it a bit less twitchy. But even without its fine.

But I guess it depends where you come from, I've ridden multiple new ducati's so I guess I'm used to it.

What type of pricing have those who purchased seen? MSRP? I want an S but not sure if XDiavel or Diavel.
The first one I bought I got for 27000 OTD which included full Termi exhaust and 9.5% CA sales tax plus DMV.

Second one, replacement for the lemon, 25887 OTD, included full Termi, all taxes and DMV. This included Ducati sweetening the deal after all the bullshit i put up with over the first lemon bike.

You should easily be able to get 1500 below msrp on the bike itself.

Don't get the X Diavel....that thing is lame. Why would anyone want a bike so powerful with no ability to put weight on the pegs and and corner it 'athletically'.

I take my 1260S in the So Cal canyons and love being able to shift my weight around on the pegs to really get into my cornering. Forward controls is a lazy style of riding perfectly suited for harleys and 'real' cruisers.

I’m not looking for a forward control bike, gotta floorboard bike already. Want an aggressive muscle cruiser, regular Diavel S would be the trick.

I own a 2019 Diavel 1260, and the throttle is abrupt, as was my GT1000 throttle. I like it for it's responsiveness; but as you say, it can be dangerous of you're not focused.

I have a 2019, that I have a love hate relationship with. I love the bike over most of the bikes I have owned previously. But I do have some issues with ride quality that I need to have the dealership address. Excessive vibration and noise. Just wondering as to what determined yours to be classified as a lemon.

I own a 2019 Diavel
Land vehicle Vehicle Motorcycle Car Motor vehicle
1260... bought it last December and have put a lot into it: Touring Package, Termignoni pipes, see-through clutch cover, carbon-fiber (not in this pic), etc.. Re: the throttle, yes, it's touchy, but from my experience that's a Ducati trademark; My 2008 GT-1000 was touchy as well, R.I.P.. Also, having just had carpel tunnel release surgery I use the electronic cruise control often. This is the fastest bike I've ever owned. Its sound is thunderous, it handles perfectly well since I torqued up the rear shock. I've put 3600 miles on it in 9 months, which almost averages out to over 10 miles per day. It's a true sport cruiser. 'Alan

No regrets on the 1260... I use the electronic cruise control a lot. I recommend that you see a dealer and test-drive one! That will answer your question best.
I previously owned a Ducati GT-1000... same type of throttle. I think it's a Ducati trademark. 'Alan
