I was reading a post in the classifieds:

and Neuroduc mentions putting a fuelie air cooled motor in a Superbike chassis. How hard a project is this? I'm just curious, as I'm thinking the new duc motors are supposed to be a bit nicer than they were say 7 or 8 years ago. So perhaps a 2 valver (or three?) would make an interesting change because of the lighter weight motor.

It would be lighter wouldn't it? Lighter motor? No radiator/water pump/coolant etc?

Kind of like ARC fabrications bikes.

Any thoughts?

You mean like this?

There's a guy here who has done it. The bike looks more like a cafe/streetfighter now...

Oh OK, so I should have checked the archives.

Somehow motor swaps have always fascinated me. But I've never thought to go to an air-cool to get a lighter bike.
