My 1100S tank panels and seat cowl are being painted; I am doing it in a charcoal (almost black) with a hint of metallic in it, along with a red stripe down the middle of each tank panel alongside the plastic center-piece, continuing with a red tapered section on the rear-seat cover.

Question is: I am looking for neat graphics to put on the tank (such as vintage DUCATI lettering, and maybe something with wings on it?..). Throw some ideas at me, I need to send something over to the painter soon.

I was thinking about something like this, maybe with similar letting saying "monster" below it?:

What do you guys think? Or something off the sportclassic; bold DUCATI with pinstripe outline in red.

Hi tyler,

I'm with you on the lettering you've chosen - it's my favourite of all the styles Ducati have used. Especially as it's on the beautiful TT2 (thanks for the Duc Porn post Ducman ST3 - I've borrowed one of the pics).

The wing logo might work with it - I'm hopeless at photoshop but someone else might do a mock up - I'd love to see that.

Good luck with it.

cheers,

neil.

Keep the vintage Ducati and do not incorporate the "monster" text. Clean and simple. ;)

That Monster pic is great...I'd make a big photo of it and frame it for the office.

I go retro on my bikes too. I paint them all though, I just don't like stickers. The 748 I'll finally have ready for the Concours show next week up at Corse Superbikes and that's the one with the wing badge on the tank. I also have a Cucciolo style lettering "Ducati" on the tail above the flushmounts. Now I'm working on the next project with will be something altogether different.

I've got a border on the wall in my bike work area that has pretty much every Ducati logo variation from over the years.

lol...yeah today I'm sporting grey primer, touches of more black and some tangelo orange pearl and white in for good measure. I just don't wear gloves...when we go out to dinner my girlfriend pulls my hands across the table and picks at my nails with hers to clean them up.
