Hiya

Get the bike up on a rear paddock stand, grab the sprocket and see if you can tinktinktink it, pulling it clockwise/anticlockwise?

An excessively worn clutch basket will give you the same backlash - but you shouldnt get than with a wet clutch ;)

if i hold the back wheel there is play in the rear sprocket enough to feel it. is it a big job to replace the cush drives, are they just pushed in or screwed in.
