My clutch lever has a lot of stiction in it, making it hard to modulate, and it's gradually getting worse.


It's not the pivot, which is cleaned and greased. I assume it's the seals sticking. The bellows has a crack in it, so it's probably been accumulating dirt over the years. Fluid is fresh, BTW.

Assume I need to rebuild it but thought I'd check here before making a mess. Is it a PITA? Ugh, I hate brake fluid!

It's a bit of a pain to rebuild, as most things are, but completely doable. I'll say though, once you use an Brembo RCS in it's place, you'll never want to go back. The action is so smooth and progressive and obviously a radial pull style has benefits.

Following up, the rebuild was easy (took the opportunity to get a MitiVac which was curiously absent from my tool collection) and now I don't look like a newb leaving stop lights.
