Well, looks like it's my time for the cracked engine case experience...
Not sure how long it's been like this, just noticed it when I had the bike stripped down for valve check. I didn't know this was a known issue so I hadn't been scrutinizing my mount locations. I just happened to be shining a flashlight around and saw the crack :frown2:
Looks like it's time to pull the motor and haul it to a welder. I'll also do some upgraded engine bolts while I'm at it like this thread:

I'm supposed to be heading out next weekend for a 1000 mile moto camping tour of some twisties. There's no way I can pull the motor, get it welded, and then back in and running by then. Do you think I'm flirting with disaster by riding it another 1k miles before getting this fixed up?
