I have found very few frame sliders for the strada. Rizoma look the best so far. Anyone have suggestions on:

Frame sliders
Bar ends
3/4 levers (not 2 finger Stubbs)
Water pump protector (Rizoma best I've found so far)
Case saver or cover (haven't found any so far)

Lastly, opinions on crash bars?

Really appreciate the help, likely there's several threads on this, just haven't been able to find them.

I opted for the SW-Motech crash bars. They looked to be more protective in a tip-over and my 2010 bike won't work with the DP bars. The bike looks a little less sleek but it's black on black so not so bad. The bars themselves weigh about 8 pounds, plus maybe a couple more for add'l hardware. I also added barkbusters, which add a little more protection and alleviate the need for bar-end weights (but probably prevent adding the throttle-lock/cruise control).

Look at Motovation for frame and front axle sliders. They are out of Austin, Tx. I have them both installed. Very satisfied. Don't know how they would protect or hold up in a crash.... I haven't tested the functionality!

@Harring10. We have both the Rizoma and Motovation sliders. Slightly different designs but both work well. We find the waterpump sliders are really important as we have had to change the waterpump on one of our bikes already. Don't ask! LOL!

I have the t rex on the front axle and Rizoma on the frame and water pump. The rizoma blends in well with the bike and is top quality. I had the t rex on the rear but did not like the way it looks so took it off. Don't need it anyway since I run the bags all the time

IMHO, the rizoma fork sliders are the best looking. For the rear, since I dont have a single sided swingarm stand, I chose speedymoto b/c the spools stick out of both sides and I can use 1stand on many bikes. However, I don't think the swingarm sliders would protect much in a crash b/c they really don't stick out enough. For ex; in a Right side slide, the exhaust becomes your slider, maybe on a Left sided slide, the slider would help more.?. I also use barkbusters (mirror is 1st to break--$130), and the SWmotech crash bars, they flow better w/lines of the bike and are black colored. I also put on the R&G tail tidy. The AVG levers are infinately adjustable, and rizoma makes a nice water-pump guard. Good luck hunting! I've seen case savers out there....

I have always painted the inside of my screens with a flat black to get a tinted look. Obvisiously you can't see through them anymore so it may not be the best choice on a touring screen. Here is my shorty that I cut down and painted.

For a water pump cover you absolutely, positively want the Altrider unit. It covers the whole pump rather than just providing a slider surface. You may well encounter an adverse situation other than a low-side, in which case you need the whole pump protected. Such as my losing argument with a guardrail over who was going to occupy that particular spot in the space-time continuum. The Altrider did its job and sacrificed itself so that the water pump could live and get me home. Had I installed one of the pure “slider” units I would have been pushing the bike home rather than riding it.

And the Altrider does a nice job of concealing the pump which, IMHO is something less than a thing of beauty.
