there is a lot you can do if you just have to keep up with a gixxer and the rest of the jones's. Dont expect to do it for cheap. They sure are fun to ride though

3000 is a good deal depending on condition and mileage. I paid 3500 for mine with 10,000 miles micron exhaust, power commander a few more odds and ends. Good luck with the jet kit

3 is a good deal. I'd buy it. [and some 800 heads, and a 6speed, and some HC pistons, and a lightened crank, and, and ,and......]

youll be right where I am now Its a freaking addiction! Get a power commander also with your goodies. I say get the bike!

To do the dry-clutch conversion, can you just use the side cover from a dry clutch bike, or is it more complicated than that?

There is a thread on this called wet/dry conversion. That goes into some details but there is a lot more to it then just a cover. I am most likely going to start mine within a month or so.
