I've been searching the forums regarding cleaning exhaust but it seems that most posts are about chrome cleaning. I have an 07 Sport Classic with the standard black headers and black Termi slipons. I need to clean various gunk off them and potentially cover up some small scratches. Any info on methods and products would be great, as would general cleaning tools for the whole bike.

I have used 'S100 Engine Brightener' on my black Termis and it did a great job darkening them back up, but scratches would probably require paint.

It sounds like that is more of a restorative spray as opposed to a cleaning spray. I'm mainly looking for something to get boot heel marks and chain grease off of the headers.

Might be more then you want to do but I have mine professionally polished once a year.

Those look great but am I correct in saying that since my headers and Termis are black then they're powder coated and there isn't too much to do in the way of cleaning besides soap and water or re-coating them? This is the info I got from my local dealer.

Aside from recoating them
Cleaning with naphta or a mild degreaser there is not too much else that you can do

If you have them ceramic coated the headers the upside is the the cans will match the headers
