anybody ever cut a chain link and repaired ? We do it on our dirtbikes all the time -- but some of my inline buddy's said that their man. does not recommend it --probably becuase they rev out 18000 rpms and not to mention the sprocket as 4million teeth.. anyway .. please let me know

why do you want to cut/break/open a chain? I can understand doing that on dirt bikes for easier cleaning. On road bikes, you really shouldn't have to do that.
Buy a good cleaner, lube, wipe off the excess and you are good to go.
