I checked the chain on my SFs and found it to be way too loose. How do I adjust the chain? New to Ducati and no manual. Lots of wrenching bikes. Thanks for any help.

You need an eccentric wrench (I'm not sure it comes in the toolkit anymore). You can buy one on ebay. Like one of these: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Pola...5fATVQ5fPartsQ5fAccessoriesQQsalenotsupported

You need to loosen the two pinch bolts on the back of the swingarm (rear on rear stand is best). Between the chain and the hub you'll see a notched plate, you use the wrench to tighten/loosen chain as needed. Tighten pinch bolts. Torque spec is: 33nm (this is 1098 spec)

ZVEZ, Thank you. Now I understand, do not know if Ducati has a manual for this bike yet or if at all but will find out at my 600 mile.

Those wrenches look kind of like the wrench you get with an aftermarket Ohlins shock. Maybe I'll give that a try.

I never did find the SF tool kit. I must've re-read that thread 5 times. But it sounds like it isn't in the stock kit anyway.

Here's the thread on finding the toolkit, tough to get to, I've never even taken mine out: http://www.ducati.ms/forums/showthread.php?t=68754&highlight=tool

I don't think a shock wrench has a big enough radius for the swingarm eccentric.
