Turn the rear wheel slowly until you find the position where chain tension is tightest.
Put motorcycle on the centre stand and push the chain up pressing with a finger at mid-length of swingarm. The lower stretch of chain must have a slack of 30 mm (ST2) 32 mm (ST4).
Chain tension is adjusted as follows:
Slacken the nut of the wheel spindle, tighten (turn clockwise) or slacken the screw on either side of the swingarm equally to increase or reduce chain tension. If you are slackening the chain, you will have to push the wheel forward.
I have a 2000 ST2 that's been sitting for a long time. It needs all the fuel pump assembly stuff replaced, which is going to be expensive. Is the assembly the same for the ST2 as it is for the ST4? I can't tell since lots of parts are listed as ST2 or ST4. Any help is appreciated. Thanks...

I prefer batteries for longgevity over lighter weight of lithiums, always been a Yuasa fan but just getting a consensus of current options....
My new (to me) 2004 ST3 runs rough, kind of spitting/stuttering, below 3,000rpm, even when the throttle is closed. Otherwise, it seems to run great. Another thing that may be related is that it idles at 1,500rpm and I wonder if the TPS needs to be reset or the "trim" adjusted. Does anyone...
So I know this topic has been discussed extensively, but I really need some help with this..
I'm fed up with the stock lights on my 2001 ST4 and avoid riding at night because they are downright dangerous. I've read many posts about possible upgrades, but I'm having difficulty finding a...
