When I am "sport" riding in the canyons around here, my foot position on the left peg is pushing the centerstand down. Has anyone modified the centerstand to eliminate this? Looks like I could just cut about 4 inches off, the stand would be a bit more difficult to use, but probably workable. Or maybe there is an aftermarket solution. It's annoying to feel the stand on my heel, but maybe this is the cost of having a centerstand in the first place.

I wear size 13.5 wide boots and I chopped that sucker off pretty soon after getting my 2012.

It’s more of a pain to get it up on the centerstand but not enough for me to have taken the time to have the shorter section welded back on.

I stuck a rubber end cap on it.

This was also an issue for me before I bought my Multi, having ridden a few prior - the tang interfered with my left heel and was a constant distraction. First mod for me was to cut out about a 2" section in the middle between the brace and the foot tang. Then welded (thanks to a neighbor) the original tang back on. Cleaned up, repainted and reinstalled it no longer touches my boot in any foot position, yet is still easily workable to get up on the center stand. Only very close inspection could reveal any difference from stock. Happy I did this one.

Images are blocked for some reason.

I need to get mine rewelded, I am just lazy. And I think my passenger side center stand bolt is stripped thanks to the dealer before I bought my bike used. I know it was the dealer because the previous owner couldn’t be bothered to replace a headlight bulb let alone his centerstand.

Wow! Thanks for your input stomp944. Looks really good. I'll be pulling the stand off and getting it cut down. Having the tang resting against my heel is really distracting!

So I went a little more drastic. I found someone to reweld it and make it more like yours though. :p

Yeah, drastic for sure. Lost some leverage there.
Another workable but less dramatic mod is to substitute a thicker bumper/stop that rests against the underside of the can. Though, too much and the sidestand sits lower than you'd want and can ultimately drag on the pavement at higher lean.

I’m already dragging the side stand occasionally without doing that, haha.

Nice work. (I meant to say center stand, but drag whatever you got!)
