Does anyone have one of these carbon fiber gauge covers that are available on ebay? Here is the link http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Ducati-900SS-3-Clock-Carbon-Fiber-Gauge-Cover-90-97_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trkparmsZ65Q3a12Q7c66Q3a2Q7c39Q3a1Q7c72Q3a1205Q7c240Q3a1318Q7c301Q3a1Q7c293Q3a1Q7c294Q3a50QQ_trksidZp3286Q2ec0Q2em14QQhashZitem5881648eeeQQitemZ380127973102QQptZMotorcyclesQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories
I am thinking of getting one for my 1997 900ss/sp. I figured it would look good with all the other carbon goodies I have on the bike.

Thanks,

Tom

I too wanted to add some weight savings. The one on Ebay I got did not say it would fit a 900SS but it does. The guages need to come out as the face ring sits on the carbon fiber. I think it is a real nice look for little money. The one you are looking at is probably simalar.

I bought one to suit my two gauge cluster and to hide the shrinking foam.

Looks fine but.

The cover (that I bought) looks to have been cut to the same size as the plastic mount for the gauges and is a little larger than the foam (the foam sits inside that mount). So when the bars are at left full lock the front brake lines touch it and kept lifting it off the foam.

I haven't finally fitted it and am still thinking about what I will do. Will either trim it down to the same size of the foam and move the brake hoses slightly. One day.

Comes with double sided tape...useless with shrinking foam. I used all purpose silicon to attach.

That looks like the one you will have to apply with silicone, unless it has an adhesive backing.

Isn't that what I just recommended in my post? :p:D

Thanks for the information and pictures.

I was also wondering about clearance for the brake lines. My lines compress the dash foam on the right corner also.

Your bike does look fantastic though!

I think I'll go ahead and get one and see how it goes.

Thanks again,

Tom
