Does anyone know if the DP tank guard #969264AAA fits on an '02 ST4S ? The catalog doesn't seem to specify, but it's not listed specifically for this model.

I think I need the other one that looks like this, as it looks more like my stock piece, but I'm not sure. How is the quality? What kind of finish is on it (any clear coat?

finish is great, like i said I had the DP one and somehow i got some chemical on it, honestly i think it was just normal soap when i was washing the bike, thing had all kind of spots and it faded real quick. I have had the feathercarbon for about a year and a half now and it still looks like new. Yes, i think there is a clear coat. I got mine on ebay, send the guy a message he was good to work with.

The ST2 and ST4S do NOT use the same piece!

The one withe the hole for the key is for an ST2, the one with the cutaway is for the ST4S.

I bought and modified the one that has a closed hole on my 03 ST4s. I cut the portion out with a fiber wheel that you would use to cut steel. Then I lightly sanded the edges.

If you have the tools at home, it wont matter which version you get. Or if you see a great deal on Ebay, they ALL can very easily be made to fit.

I also had to modify the key hole slightly, also glueing the rubber to the carbon was a pain in the ass

What rubber did you have to glue to the carbon ?

i went to home depot and got an epoxy that was for rubber and plastics.. what a pain though, it is still holding so it must have worked

The rubber that goes around the outside edge.

I used super-glue, and only in a few spots. Worked great.
