Can anyone link me to a buyers guide to early monsters? I cant seem to fins one anywhere that tells me what to look for before buying and the differences in models

I am particularly interested in one of the last carburettor bikes

Carb monster era ended around 99-00 but you sure you don't fancy fuel injected twin cam models, like S4s?

Almost sure!

I want one as a keeper, a more simple bike, so air cooled, minimal electronics, and a metal tank...

Just want to know what to look out for on such a bike before I buy one

Hey, DucatiMs stop rotating my pics. This is the only site that does that. FWIW, that's a 2001 Monster S4. And, no, that's not the ultimate wheelie.

Really, there aren’t any bad Monsters. Pick your price range and see what’s available for you. Keep in mind the bigger engine bikes usually have better brakes and suspension too, so it’s not just about the Power.

If you want a carburettor 900 Monster you want an early one as around 96/97 they put 750 heads on them to take some hp out of them.

A quick search will bring up the serials from when to when.
