Hey guys,

It's been quite a while since I've posted, so I'm not sure if any of the "old gang" is around to remember this S1K build...
The last couple of years have been so busy that I just haven't been riding much so I'm thinking of selling her and wanted to get some thoughts on an appropriate price. There are so many customizations that it's a bit hard to compare to another SC so I'm a bit unsure of what to ask for it.

The build is pretty well documented on this forum (do a search for me - there's a lot...) but here are a couple key bits:

tank Caswell coated & fuel pump fixed
Gixxer front end - (forks, breaks, vast improvement)
Custom exhaust (modified Keihan Conti SST cones w/polished SST headers)
custom fairing mount (bolt-on aluminum frame)
GT1K tank & custom mono seat to fit it (more comfortable w/shorter reach)
ST4 risers (all-day ride comfort)
additional custom 2-up seat (all leather, super comfortable)
pillion pegs installed, optional mono rearsets also included
2 shocks: one for sprung for 2-up, one set up for mono
2 custom luggage rack systems (one for a top bag, the other a customized Ventura setup for 3-piece)
wired with power outlet for heated gear & grips
Airbox removed, pod filters, engine mapped with Power Commander for intake/exhaust mods

Couple of pics attached, thanks in advance for any input.

Hey Geoff!

Nice to hear from you, Coconut and Fujinator are still active on this forum as well.
Last time I saw you, you were passing me on this same bike in the wilds of Canada...

I don't have to tell you how unique your bike is, and for everyone who's seeing it for the first time the pics barely do it justice. Really an awesome and thoughtful build.

Value? Obviously, someone's going to have to want what you've created vs what Ducati sold. Do you have any stock parts to go along with? I would say north of 12K, but that's just me... :smile2:

Thanks for the replies - it's good to hear a couple of the "old gang" (original owners) are still active.
I bought the bike to ride it, love it, make it just what I wanted - never focused on investment or re-sale. I can definitely say I've gotten every penny's worth of enjoyment from all the saddle time.
It's not a garage queen or mint collector piece and I'm well aware of how personal all the mods are, so it's really a matter of figuring out who would appreciate it for what it is.

Hello Geoff... Has it been that long since the Canada SC meet?!?

As a data point regarding a GT's value, when I experienced an on-road mishap with my GT last summer, State Farm gave me almost $9k for my repair claim and did not total it.

That said, my biased opinion is in line with Jeff's valuation of $12k+ish.

Hi Geoff,
Another old face that is still around.
I got excited seeing a post from GTRossi, I thought we were going to be treated to another wonder bike build.
I have become good friends with the guys from Shed X here in Australia, and I am amazed at what people pay for custom bikes, but in this case they are having a bike built to their specifications. I agree with the advise above ask high and you might be lucky, but at the end of the day there might only be one or two interested in your bike and you have to drop your price to what sells.
All the best
Rob
