My bike has always done this. I don't know how else to refer to the feeling other than perhaps grinding. It feels like the front bearings are going, but when I check them all seems fine, no gritty feel, wheel spins smoothly, no play. (I repacked the front bearngs yesterday and all seems well)

It does not happen every time, nor does it happen at a certain speed or brake loading. I have always felt this occasional grundging feeling is generated by brake dust between the pad and rotor.

Anybody else get that feeling?

Change out the brake pad's and go over the "whole" front end again w/ a fine tooth comb including tire and rim. This should not be happening sir.:)

I've swapped pads and it will still do this on occasion. The bike's been doing this since new though the feeling has either become more pronounced with time, or I have become more sensitive to it. I might just swap the bearings out even though they seem fine at a little less than 30K.
