After 3 weeks of rebuilding my ST4 I finally got it all back together. Took it on a short ride down the road and the head gasket blew. I don't yet understand why or where it failed. I'm to tired to pull the head tonight. I did drain the oil out and tomorrow I am going to flush out the radiator and coolant hoses. Just a little disappointed. ?

On a good note, having the squish set right made a real noticeable difference, if only for a mile or two.

I put it on with the intake end on the exhaust end?. At least no significant damage occurred. I also learned an important lesson about Ducati head gaskets.

Nothing more aggravating than the second teardown.

I got the head off and it looks like I didn't blow the gasket?. Oil was leaking into the coolant and the resulting foam and pressure blew a coolant hose. I have a spare thankfully and if it wasn't Mother's Day here I would have it running today. At least I will get a chance to fix some of the other minor mistakes I made on reassembly.
