There has got to be something out there to contain this under tail heat. Anyone find a solution that has proven effective?

They introduced an upgraded heat shield in 2013. I thought it was a recall where the older bikes were fitted but I could be wrong. One thing I wonder about whatever design heat shield used is if you could line it with a high temp shielding to reduce the amount of heat actually transmitted to the heat shield itself.

Something like this

If you want to make your own heat shield you should check this
This seems to be the only manufacturer that i found doing researches for my project which makes serious heat shields and not some kitchen ALU sheet :grin2:

Wrapping the pipe will retain more heat in the head/valve area I'm wondering?

(Read something about this in a Yamaha SR400 thread some time ago.Wrapping the pipe was not recommended.)
