battery light comes on and off for no reason.new battery installed.what should i check its a 1992 750 ss
Test your voltage across the battery (with a multimeter)- if it doesn't go to around 14 volts, then it's either your stator or RR (Rectifier and voltage Regulator - all in one unit) that have died (very likely). If it does go to 14 volts (with a few revs), then possibly a fault in the wiring to the warning light (unlikely).

Look through the previous 5-6 (maybe more!) pages in this forum for threads titled 'Battery' or 'RR' problems... There's a few of them, and they'll give you all the info you need to figure out the rest, and what to get (NOT a genuine Ducati RR!).

Ah hell - here you go (must be 'Be kind to Aussies' day ;)) - http://www.ducati.ms/forums/57-supe...s-does-ducati-still-make-one-my-94-900ss.html

And here's a post I did with handy links on how to test... http://www.ducati.ms/forums/57-supersport/144588-issues-battery-2.html#post1433333

You can pick up multimeters cheap at most auto accessory/electrical shops - or DSE...
