I removed my tank, fenders and battery. I had the tins painted and am now changing the headlight to a v-rod one. I put the charged battery back in to test the re-wired light and I am not getting power. The security light is blinking but still no power. The tank is still not connected, is this the problem or do I use the red key? Any help would be great!

The tank and red key should not make a difference. Check the simple stuff first. Are all electrical connections correct and sound- battery and lights? Perhaps the battery has a dead cell or two- check with a load tester. On my S4 there are 2 relays on the left side. One controls the engine electrics and the other the lights. They're both the same- try swapping them.

I am betting there's a bad/missed connection in the wiring of the new light.
