I just started riding my 1098 to work with some frequency. I don't have a lock for the bike, but I park in a secure, underground parking garage with limited access. I still would feel a lot more comfortable if I had something to lock it up with. What do you guys use?

Also, what do people do with their helmet and jacket when they park? Is there anyway to lock it up to the bike so I don't have to carry it around with me?

I parked next to a guy on a GXXR today. He used something (couldn't see what) to kind of lock his leather jacket to the bike and also his helmet.

Any thoughts are appreciated. Thanks.

Lock it to a post or other solid object with the best lock money can buy. Disc locks don't do any good when thieves pick up the bike and throw it into the back of a van.

Take your helmet and jacket inside with you. It's the safest place for them. If you don't have a good place to keep them, consider asking a security guard or receptionist in your building if they have a place behind their counter or a nearby closet where you can keep them.

Fortunately I don't have to worry about people stealing my bike at work. However I don't trust people enough to leave my helmet and jacket on the bike. Can you not just carry that stuff inside with you? No clue where you work. So that may not be fesable.

A chain & lock is only as good as what you chain it to. The Almax chains are awesome, the best in the world, but if you chain it to a street railing that can be hacksawed in 2 minutes...........

As for jackets, just carry/wear them around, safest & cheapest option! Although, I have been known to put my chain through the sleeve of my jacket if I'm sure it's not going to rain.

Thanks. You actually use the almaz chain? Seems bulky and heavy. How do you carry it around?

I have a Series 3, 1.5m long. It weighs a ton and TBH I only take it with me when the bike is going to be out of my sight for an extended time. When I got mine Almax were including a Kriega US10 tailpack to carry it in, included in the price of the chain/lock (I see you now have to buy a chain/lock/ground anchor combo to get the free tailpack, which I think is still a good deal) You wouldn't want to put it in a rucsack or sling it over your shoulder, I can tell you!
