Hey guys,

Quick Question: Is there anything different about Ducati OEM Wheels that would make them special to balance for a motorcycle shop?

I got a Hypermotard 1100 EVO and need to change out the tires. Called a local motorcycle shop and to find the price of mounting and balancing 2 tires. The owner told me he doesn't mount and balance Ducati wheels because he didn't know if there was something specialized about them? Told me he doesn't do BMW wheels cause of some shaft?? Regardless

I told him, I didn't think there was anything special about the stock wheels on my Duc but would double check to make sure.

Let me know...thanks

Nothing really special except you need the right socket for the rear wheel, and a cone big enough to mount the wheel on the balancing machine.

Last point could be discarded using balancing beads, that's what i use and is working well, as long as you mount the tire dry (without tire grease).
