I am planning a ride down to AZ in latter part of May which will include the "Rim Country". Has anyone out there ridden the "Old Rim Road" from Show Low to above Strawberry? I would be interested in knowing what it is like. Expect the views to be fantastic but question the maintanence of the roadway. I know it isn't for my ST4 but would be on my Beemer GS.
Will be meeting up with a rider friend from the South Central for a ride on US 191 from Douglas to the other border north of Malta, MT. Gotta ride the Coronado Trail once again. People speak of Deals Gap, haven't had the pleasure, but am drawn back to the remotely wild, wicked scenery and steep, tight and gravely corners on the C. Trail. From the desert to alpine forest and very little traffic.
