Mate of mine paid $36K au for a new Diavel some months ago and at 6000klm the gearbox has shit itself. Is this a known issue?

"They" will only offer him a rebuilt box, but in the same motor which is now full of metal particles. Is this the norm?

He did compare the motor c/w particles like having a @#$% with baby oil and sand...

Mine's at 11,000 miles and zero issues with gearbox. In fact I would say that it's one of the sweetest, cleanest changing gearboxes on a bike I've ever had.

Only common gearbox issue with the Diavel is the standard Ducati issue of being a bit difficult to find neutral at times. I honestly haven’t heard of any other instance of this in the 5 years I’ve had mind.

I’ve heard of a few motors self destructing with relatively few miles but nothing I would consider common.

What model year is the bike?
