looking to get a bit more rearset grip for my 749. the stockers position is fine, but too slippery for the track. has anyone tried the oberon replacement foot pegs that fit stock rearsets? seem economical enough

I've got them on my 848 right now... not a huge fan. Are they better than the OEM, sure, but if you really want to improve the grip I'd opt for something like the Rizoma or Ducabike replacement pegs that have that 360-degree sandpaper feel -- about $25 more on eBay for Ducabike.
I've used the oberon's for 4 track days now and like them quite a bit. much less slippery than the stockers and cheaper too. looked at the ducabike ones mentioned and they do look like they'd be more grippy as they resemble the ones from my sato rearsets which were great, but i couldn't handle their position (I'm 6'4").
joining in the party. i'm looking for replacement pegs too. over the years, the stockers have been worn down. quite slippery indeed.

You mean these?

Not listed for the xx9, are they the same?
I run the Competition Werkes pegs on my Monster. They have loads more grip than the stockers. DT says the S2R has the same replacement part number as your 999, so I assume you'd be making the same step up from stock as I had. These were a great upgrade and really improved feel from the rest of the bike because I didn't have to hold on so hard everywhere else due to the worry of my foot slipping off the peg, highly recommended.

That's what I was talking about, but not sure of fit. I'd email the Ducabike seller and ask about compatibility for your bike; I've always gotten good customer service from them. Like I said, don't think the brand name matters much but I'd definitely go for something like that with the full grip instead of just some "raised teeth."
Is there a point when the pegs become too "grippy?"

I tried the oberon pegs and they are ok but still basically like the stock pegs in desgin. I've now gone to the LSL/Speigler pegs and they are miles better.

much grippier even when wet. and they look super nice too. :)

they come in a 'standard' type which is about the same length as stock.

I use the standard type with the fold up brackets in titanium..

you need the right brackets to fit them.

pegs cost about $30 and brackets about $40 so $70 all up for a pair of pegs.

these are the shorter 'race' pegs.

these are my new favourite pegs. quality is really nice and wide choice of colours but most importantly is the fact they work really well.

Jeremy, I've got the ones you posted.

IMO they don't offer any more grip (they've got a grippier surface, but less surface area than the stock pegs). To me the stock pegs actually feel a lot better (the oberons feel like I'm on skinny little sticks). I've only kept 'em on cause I'm too lazy to switch back.

If I were to get pegs all over again I'd look for something that is flat and wide like the stock pegs, or like the ones on the CRG rearsets.

i think i am going with the ducabike ones
just wanted to add a better pic. you can see the 'road' LSL pegs are heavily scalloped out underneath. they are great to use. I found them miles better than stock and the oberon ones (and I usually really like oberon gear). being curved I find much better than flat for 'sporty' riding.

for those with a biposto who are image conscious you can get a set of the passenger footrests too (the pegs are the same but you use a different adapter).

Paul Geller's (Ducati Designs) pegs. Here ya go:

Ducati Designs, LLC - Adjustable and Billet Footpegs

I have the Ducati Designs "race" pegs on my Streetfighter S and my Monster 900S. Very good, grippy, comfortable pegs. The Monster has the adjustable variety.

I also have the Oberon pegs on my 749S track bike. They're OK, but IMO the Ducati Designs pegs are better. More grippy, particularly at the end. The Oberon pegs are also about 12 mm longer (too long) compared to the Ducati Design pegs due to the Oberon's thick base design.

On top of that, with the Ducati Design pegs you get to support a small, local company run by an enthusiast.
which adapters do you use? they dont list the HP.

oops this is the superbike forum, dammit!!

Oberon pegs

I've had them on my other ducati's , and do have them on my 1098 also bought the brake/clutch re. cap and pr loader adjust from a Oberon dealer on e-bay -- this was so all those little bling parts are of the (hopefully) the same Shade of Gold.

All you need is a set from a Cagiva Mito, they fit straight on the stock brackets and are as grippy as you like.
I've got them for the pillion and will get another pair for me soon as the stock ones feel slimy.
