Does anyone know where to look up s/n for a narrow case? I'd like to know what this number corrilates to ie: monza, diana, etc.

Serial # were issued to all motors, if they wanted a mark 3 they added m3 to the #,sc was added for scrambler, m1 added for mach 1. monzas & sebrings only had numbers no letters, 4 speed motors had no letters in the serial #.
I have a 1962 scr, and 1963 diana with just numbers, some one stated that if dm250 was on one side or the other it would tell you if it was 4 or 5 speed motor, I'm going to look back thru the posts and write down the that info on identifying 4 or 5 speed motors, Capt Paul

I checked 4 of my engines and 5 speed ones had dm 250 on left side, (Clutch side) Also I believe Elbert said dm250 on left side denotes 5 speed motor.

Thank you very much. That answered all my questions. Mine too is a 5 speed motor with DM 250 stamped on the left case.
