Hey There,

Does Anyone Have the DucaBike Handguard Protectors on there MTS1200?

Ive been looking for alil protection for the hand guards (and frankly like the Supermoto look :).

The Ducabike ones look pretty nice, but they list its only for the 2015+ 1200 and 950.

Anyone know if they will fit the 2010-2014's? I would assume the handguard dimensions cant be that different right?

Thoughts?

I might take a chance on them, but wondering if anyone has some feedback. Thanks!

I have, I don’t like the design/style at all.

What are they protecting you from exactly? Looks to me like they are designed to catch a car mirror, which would be very bad.

Okay, I clicked on the link. You are advocating spending $225 on a device that is designed to protect a $25 piece of plastic in the event of a drop or slide? Never mind what that would do to the $225 slider itself. Seems like a ridiculous waste of money if you ask me.

Ya' that part is more like $115 than $25.

They won't work. The early Multi handguards didn't attach to the ends of the handlebars, and the Ducabike guards are covers that rely on the later guards to keep in place.

No, it isn’t. I dropped my bike and broke the hand guard. Cost was less than $30 for the oem one from Ducati. Turn signal lens wasn’t damaged so it was changed over to the new one in less than 5 minutes.

Found a link here. $25.14 for a new left side hand guard.

They would protect my handguard from breaking.

Also not going to spend that much, there's a similar style for $80 (ducabike knockoff), But was wondering about the fit.

Have you considered the Barkbuster guards instead?
They're used mostly on dirt bikes and can cause broken wrists if you don't let go. Cycra ProBends are similar but less likely to break wrists. I have them on my KTM dirt bikes and had them on my 950 Adv.

Unless you're prone to dropping your bike a lot, might not be worth it. I don't think anyone takes a MTS on single tracks.

I have the bark busters and they have saved some damage from clipping this and that including a larger branch on a fire road. I pulled the stickers off and rotated them down a bit below the turn signal lenses so they kind of go away visually. I do like the look of the Ducabike guards, their products are well made and add a pleasing accent IMO. Sometimes it’s not about the cost or what makes the most since to others but rather what we like, that’s why we purchase these bikes in the first place.

agreed. Something I just want a certain part over another simply because of Design or Aesthetic. Anyway, it was just a fitment question.

I have a number of Ducabike parts that I've added a little at a time. The bar end protectors look great and work great. I've dropped my bike once on each side with no issues. They are made out of substantial aluminum.
