All the mentions of other brands of bikes got me wondering.... Anyone else NEVER ridden a Kawasaki, a Suzuki or a Yamaha? I did ride a Honda - dirt bike - at Supercamp this year but the last time I was on a Honda road bike was in the mid-70's. Anyone else?

Hmmmmm.....I recall the only Jap STREET bike that I've ever ridden was a 1979 Kawasaki KZ-1000 when I was 18 years old. Other than that, I can only remember riding three different Ducatis, a Harley, and a buddy's 2001 Aprilia Falco.

I make it a point to never ride a bike I'm not looking to buy. I don't like the responsibilities involved if I ever total someone else's bike. Other than the Kawasaki and the Aprilia, I have only ridden my own bikes......Oh yeah, there was a 1965 Harley, during Bike Week, because the owner was too drunk to make it back to the hotel room without the cop across the street busting him.



Edit - I also forgot about my first street bike....which I owned before I had a license. It was a 1972 Yamaha LS-2 100. It wasn't much more than a moped, so I forgot all about it.

Loved the Kawi 250. It was my 1st bike and perfect for the job.

i have been riding my buddy's 05 kawi zx6r, i own a 05 800ss. The way that kawi is set up, The front dont slope down the way the r6 are and it reminds me, just the way i sit it feels like mine... for a it being a six i have enjoy riding it to work.. the only reason i dont have mine is because i've been having major motor problems..... im not a happy camper...

I currently own a 600cc Shadow, but I hardly ever ride it anymore. It's sort of my spare/utility bike, but it isn't nearly as much of a hoot to ride as the ST3. I will likely sell it this year and buy some farkles for the Duc. Including bikes I've owned or had friends let me ride, I've ridden other Hondas: Nighthawk, Rebel, V65 Sabre, a Triumph Tiger and Bonnie T100, and a Buell Blast, but I don't think I ever rode a Yamaha, Suzuki or Kawasaki actually. Hmm strange I guess.:think:

Oh in answer to your question....no... I have ridden all major Japanese brands and a few German and Italian brands. but funny enough i have never ridden a Harley

I started out on the street on an 82 Kawasaki GPZ550...I learned how to ride on a CR125....I ride a Duc for 2 reasons...I learned of what Twin motors were all about riding my buddies Honda HawkGT NT650 and fell in love with how a Twin performs with my type of riding in general....and 2...I got a sweet deal on my Monster as far as I'm concerned!

I´ve only owned my Ducati 748SP (my first and only bike)

I´ve testridden some other bikes like the Multistrada, ST4, R1, CBR900, Africa Twin750, KTM 640LC4 and so on.. But that was only 1-2 days of testriding.
