Am I hearing Things

I'm in the market for a Termi exhaust. I was able to hear one at the dealer today on a 999S.

So here's the thing: It seemed louder idling than it did when one of the mechanics road off on it. Sweet though going by on the street...

But sitting still you knew it was a race exhaust...

Have others experienced this? Or are all my years of listening to rump shaker music affecting my hearing.

Yup, it's really just a quiet rumble when pulling away from a stop ... that is, of course, until you NAIL the throttle... that's when you'll need the earplugs :D
+1. I was kinda dissapointed in how quiet I "perceived" my exhaust to be until one day out goofing around on a super remote street the wife and I pulled over and took a short video clip of me coming around the curve. I entered with about a steady 6,000rpm's and then back on it coming out of the curve. When I got home and heard that clip, I couldn't believe it. It was an undescribable sound. I was like "MAN!!! So that's what everyone hears when I go by!!"
mine sounds really sweet in tunnels. oh yes.
My wife said she can hear me coming from 1/2 mile away now...

Gives her time to kick out the boyfriend.....
I LOOOOVE tunnels on my 999s with termi!

Clutch rattle makes it seem louder at idle that when in gear and pulling away. But from 7000rpm up, migrain material. I love it!
What system comes with the 999s anyway? All the websites say that it includes a separate Termignoni Race Exhaust. But they don't specify whether its just a slip on, half system, asymetrical, full, titanium, or stainless, 50mm, 54mm, 57mm.

Edit: Well i did some research and it looks like it comes with a Muffler, air filters, ecu, and a header for the horizontal cylinder. But i'm still not sure what diameter it is and whether that system would work on a base 999?

The 54mm would work according to the dealer...
