Other than shaving a little weight and aesthetics, is there any real benefit to running aftermarket pressure plates? Also, Are they compatible with slipper clutches?

Many, if not most, have deeper spring pockets to protect the spring posts in event of a crash. Non-slipper pressure plates are splined to the hub making them incompatible With slipper clutches.

Thanks for the info Matt. About the slipper question though; the stock plate on my 996 isn't splined. So the aftermarket ones are?

I know from experience that it's easier to get a replacement plate for a slipper from the manufacturer. It's almost impossible to find someone making slipper plates for your brand slipper.

The stock plates on my 749 and SS were splined; the two aftermarket plates I had werre splined too... DP and can't remember the other brand
