giday super sporters, due to the years taking their toll on the body, i really need to move to higher handlebars of some sort, i'm thinking along the line of flat bars with a one inch lift or so, has anyone been down this road with changing the top triple clamp to put higher bars on

Options are kind of limited on the post '98 supersports. On my 750 I installed those clipon risers that lift the bars a bit and also make them more horizontal. It made a noticable (i.e., useful, but not profound) difference, but my hands would hit the mirrors at full lock. I kept them on, but was afraid to lend the bike to anyone else in case they got caught out while doing a U-turn.

There just isn't that much room available to improve things.
