Australia isn't just urban sprawl surrounded by uninhabited red dust.

I thought I'd show you around my neighbourhood, blessed as it is with some fine motorcycling roads. I took these pics on today's 350km mid-winter ride in the state of Victoria, south-eastern Australia - where I'm fortunate enough to reside.

Early morning, its cold.

The only traffic... is me :)

...but I do have to share the road with the occasional local...

Mid-day and it's warmer now...

...so down from the hills to the coast

And, as the afternoon sun begins to wane, time to head homeward once again...

...but not before a quick beer and a bite to eat in the pub ;)...

Cheers!

I almost forgot how nice it is down under. I spent a couple years in WA (Perth), and then SA (Adelaide). Did much cycling (not the motor kind) back then. Shit 12 years ago:(. Bloody hell time goes by.

Nice photos mate!

Although I'm from north of the ranges some of those roads look familiar.
I'll guess that the wind farm is at Toora and the trestle bridge is down near Kilcunda? I can't recall seeing that pub though.

I'm hoping to get another nice mid winter day on the weeknd to get out on the bike too!

cheers,

neil.
