For those who have already done this, how did you remove the locating tit on the handlebars, for the front brake & clutch lever clamps? Vice grips and pull them out? or tap them in with a punch? or another way? TIA Alex

Hi Alex!

I used a Dremel with a grinding bit and took the pins down. Worked great and only took a few minutes.

Vice grips and pulled the pins, took me longer to tell you than to do it.

Real easy, they are not in tight.

I think there are 2 different items here.

The brake housing has a pin cast into the clamp, that needs to be ground down.

The clutch side has a removable inserted pin, that pops out with a pair of pliers.

(At least that's what I think I remember when I re-did my bars.)

I think you're right Charlie. I think I tried to remove my brake side first, couldn't, so I grounded it and the clutch side down.

I do remember one of them kinda moved a tad when the grinder hit but by the time I realized, sucker was gone!

Rat tail file did my brackets and switches, pliers pulled the pin.
