Well, it's a beautiful day in central VA. Cool, dry, low humidity, more like October than late June.
Went out this morning down my favorite road, one I ride almost every day. Humming along at a "brisk" pace, passing the sleeping cages I noticed a car keeping pace with me through the passes. It was far enough back that I couldn't tell if it was a cop.
After 5-6 miles of this I figured if it was LEO he would have lit me up by then, so I just kept rolling along, being precise, about 10-20 over the limit.
Sure enough, as soon as I signaled to pull into a turn-around the blue light show started.
I stopped, turned off the trusty Hyper and said "good morning officer, how are you today".
Well the punch line is he checked my license, told me I was going too fast and to slow down. Then he LET ME GO. No ticket, no lecture, no hassle.
I can only assume I was obviously having such a good time he just couldn't bring himself to ruin it. Maybe it was such a nice day he felt as good about life as I did. Maybe he digs Ducatis. Who knows.
The ride back was slower, but just as sweet as the ride out.
All things considered, a great ride. Thanks Officer, you have a good day.
