999 Termi exhaust hits swingarm

827 Views 3 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  kope999R
Title says it all. Termi exhaust is rubbing on my swingarm. I've tried moving the exhaust around, but it wants to stay where it is. I did have it out of the way until a bracket broke and it went back to rubbing. Can a relieve a little bit of the "Rib" on the 2003 or 2004 swingarm without weakening it? Any other thoughts?

I suppose I could give the pipe a smack to flatten it out some but that seems like a sin and a last resort.

Other ideas??
Thanks

What type of Termignoni exhaust kit is it? Full or slip on? If it's a full you can try loosening up the manifolds, everything....leave it all loose and see if you can pick up some space where it's rubbing. If it's a slip, it shouldn't touch at all. Maybe you bought the wrong kit w/ the wrong horz. pipe.....that said if it's just wearing that rib on the old style sand cast swinger then let it wear itself in.
